Find where AI fits
Map where AI could save time in your organisation and where the risks sit, from a team-wide AI Team Scan to a review of one department's workflow.
Bernard Wright advises organisations in the Netherlands on where AI fits their work, what to do first, and how to get their teams using it safely. Almost two decades of building data and AI systems for governments, corporates and start-ups sit behind the advice.

Turn the options into a short plan: which tasks to start with, which tools suit them, what it will save, and what rules your people need.
Hands-on training and, where it helps, a working setup in your own accounts, so your team runs it without needing us afterwards.
A selection of projects across AI, software and data for decisions. The common thread is turning complex information into decisions people can act on.
Open-source ERP for African agri-businesses.
Led AgriOS, an open-source ERP whose AI agents, using Gemini, Claude and ChatGPT, automate tasks, data analysis and user support. It has official Digital Public Good status, Linux Foundation governance, and connects platforms to 2,000 lenders and service providers across 10 countries.
Co-founded start-up (Fieldy).
Co-founded an AI start-up that predicted crop types and harvests from satellite imagery for commodity traders across 18 countries, and designed the data systems behind a $40M transaction for the world's largest coffee trader.
Emergency response planning.
Technology advisor to the council on digital twins and AI systems to improve urban emergency response.
Practical AI's own tools.
A Claude-based app that tracks bids and grant applications, checks tenders and funder rules, drafts from a content library and fills the buyer's own templates, and a voice-interview scan of how teams really use AI.
GIZ.
Led a cross-functional data team building alternative energy reporting tools for the German development agency GIZ.
Global Green Growth Institute.
Led the geospatial workstream of a Netherlands-funded programme to catalyse the solar home systems market in Mbarara and Gulu, mapping demand, access to finance, grid coverage and rooftop solar potential per building.
Compliance applications.
Built applications that simplify EU Deforestation Regulation compliance and greenhouse gas reporting.
Rabobank and the Danish Forestry Extension.
Carried out forest quantification for Rabobank's carbon projects and for the Danish Forestry Extension.
Greater Virunga Transboundary Collaboration.
Carried out the analysis for and wrote the 2017 Annual Conservation Status Report, covering land cover change and deforestation across a three-country protected landscape.
Environmental impact assessment.
Modelled the effect of groundwater extraction scenarios on sensitive vegetation using the NICHE model, as sub-consultant on an environmental impact assessment for a Belgian water utility.
Past clients and partners include UN agencies (WFP, UNHCR, UNDP, FAO), GIZ, German federal agencies, Dublin City Council and the National Geographic Foundation.
Bernard Wright has been building practical digital tools for almost two decades. He cofounded an AI startup which predicted national harvests for commodity traders to price deals in 18 countries, built transgovernmental intelligence systems to tackle mountain gorilla poaching, and tracked pirates by satellite for the UN. He has tasked satellites to monitor deforestation, flown drones for flood management, run underwater sonar surveys on the Nile for conservation, and flown aerial surveys for carbon projects.
He has been using AI since his Fieldy days and uses it daily, including to run his own bone broth brand alongside his consulting work. People kept asking how he does it, which is why he now helps other organisations do the same.
He lives in Hilversum with his Dutch wife and two kids.
